What you see
1 inch long with a wrinkled skin in colors of red, yellow, orang, green and maroon with a pointed tip that resembles the tail of a scorpion.
no sound.
An extremely high pungent smell of chilli pepper.
Extremely pungent or 'hot' taste of chilli pepper, reputedly the hottest in the world.
Very light, when cut it should be handled with gloves and mask as the vapors can burn the eyes even if not touched or consumed. When touched, it produces a searing burning sensation to the skin which can last up to 2 days.
Food Assessor's Comment
In Trinidad and Tobago this chilli pepper is used in the preparation of extremely spicy food or in the making of hot sauces where it is ground and mixed with green papaya, garlic, lime juice or vinegar to dilute its piquancy, but with a flavor that remains intact.
